2016 Charity Dragon Boat Racing was a HUGE success

The sun shone and hundreds of paddlers took to the water cheered on by even more supporters all to have fun and raise money for charity.

The competition was good spirited and teams competed in multiple heats to battle for the coveted trophy. The winner was team “World Class” with a final time of 51 seconds to cover the 200m course. Rotary Club Prague International would like to thank everyone who participated, supported and helped in the oragnisation of the event which has raised hundreds of thousands of crowns for good causes.

This event is not just about the dragon boat racing, although that is the most exciting part of Prague’s Dragon Day. It is also about raising money for local charities that do invaluable work in supporting and helping those in need. It’s a unique opportunity for companies and organisations to get their brand and their name attached to the great causes that are being supported and to raise their profile.  Our 2016 main charity partners are ŽIVOT 90, an organisation providing a wide range of services for senior citizens and Nadace Naše Dítě who offer much needed help and support for many children in very difficult circumstances. A particular vote of thanks goes to Peter Klima and the Czech Dragon Boat Association for allowing us to use their boats and set-up on the day. Without this the day would not be possible.
