On Saturday, 25.7.26 and Sunday, 26.7.2026, Prague Zoo will host a popular insectivore weekend. In addition to thematic animal feedings, visitors will also be offered free tastings of insect specialties, commented food preparations, or demonstrations of farmed insects. There will also be a competition stand for children. The first hundred tickets sold at the main box office will also receive a bonus package of flavored crickets on both days. The complete program can be seen on the Prague Zoo website.
Insect skewers, garlic-covered crickets, or locusts in banana batter – this is what the weekend delicacies for visitors at the Prague Zoo Education Center will look like. People will also learn how Brazilian blackflies, Argentine cockroaches, or so-called mealworms are bred and processed.

The program starts in the Dja Reservation with the northern talapoins (10.15). The African House invites you to visit the burrowing geckos (10.30) or meerkats (10.45), and the Pavilion of Beasts and Reptiles will present desert lizards in the Kattakum exhibition (10.30) and the equally remarkable Sonora exhibition (10.45). The Prague Zoo guides in the lower part of the garden will reveal interesting facts about the life of anteaters (13.30). The Indonesian Jungle will not be left behind either. It invites visitors to feed critically endangered short-tailed pangolins (15.30).
