The Záviš Cross, one of the most precious medieval treasures in the Czech lands, has yielded two unexpected discoveries. Researchers have found a second wooden relic inside the cross and have also discovered that some of the gemstones were misidentified.
The Záviš Cross is a medieval golden reliquary kept at Vyšší Brod Monastery in southern Bohemia.
