The Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival, one of the largest events of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, opens its 30th edition on Friday. The program features more than 350 films from around the world, a retrospective section of films that changed the world and a special look back at the festival’s history using its own archive footage.
Over the past three decades, documentary film has become one of the principal ways of understanding an increasingly complex and interconnected world.
