Richard Wagner and his connection to Czechia, from Teplice to Prague’s theatres

Richard Wagner had a strong connection to Czechia, from the spa town of Teplice to Prague’s theatres. He reportedly found inspiration for the libretto of his opera Tannhäuser at Střekov Castle near Ústí nad Labem, and his operas were performed in Prague soon after their German premieres.
